HYDROLOGIC and HYDRAULIC - MINING

Scope:
The hydrologic and hydraulic analysis allowed to quantify the impact of the exploitation on the watercourses surrounding the site and to mitigate its effects in order to respect the Ministry of environment of Québec criteria for peak flows and water quality.

Specific results:

  • Peak flows in natural condition and at different stages of exploitation at 3 outfalls,
  • Design of drainage elements and of water retention pounds for peak flow control and water quality
  • Peak flows released after restoration of the site
Client: Fairmont Resources, project Buttercup
Location: Northern Québec, Canada
Realisation: 2014

RIVER HYDRAULICS

Scope :
The hydrologic and hydraulic analysis allowed to quantify peak flows and water levels to satisfy the Ministry of environment’s criteria and the bridge design objectives.

Specific results:
  • Peak flows and water levels at the bridge for different return periods
  • Determination of the minimum opening of the bridge (environment) and minimum elevation of the deck (design).
  • Rockfill protection

Client: Ministry of transportation - Bridge P000123
Location: Québec, Canada
Realisation: 2012

Urban Water Management

Scope:

Determination of the return period of the observed rainfall event on May 29th 2012 and modeling of the existing sewers to identify

Specific results:

  • Analysis of rainfall precipitation from 6 raingages in the city’s region and determination of the return period of the observed event (over a 100 years)
  • Modeling of existing sewers to identify restrictions
  • Technical recommendations to increase the level of service of the network to prevent flooding

Client: City of Westmount
Location: Québec, Canada
